The National Association of Italian Partisans in Pietrasanta, in a letter to the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, expressed its solidarity with the people of Iran in their struggle for freedom, democracy and respect for human rights, and announced: “We were informed about the shocking events in Iran in which thousands of Iranian youths poured to the streets to protest against the Iranian regime. Killing, injury and imprisonment of a number of revolting youths, of course, hurt us and worries us, but at the same time, this is a hard challenge for the Iranian people who demand freedom from oppression and injustice.”

“The severe government crackdown cannot overcome the popular movement that fights with courage for a free and democratic Iran.”

Italian Democratic Party, Fiano Romano Branch, expressed solidarity with the Iranian people and declared: “We declare our support for the Iranian people who are fighting these days to emphasize democracy and freedom.”

“We call on the Italian government to also take initiatives in the EU to (stop) the dictatorial regime and release the Iranian political prisoners.”

“Our solidarity also includes the National Council of Resistance of Iran, which during these terrible years has been fighting for the Iranian people’s rights to emphasize their civil and democratic rights.”

The Italian “Rolando Cecchi Pandolfini Cultural Association” in a letter to Iranian Resistance’s President-elect wrote: “The protests of thousands and thousands of Iranians who went to the streets chanting ‘bread, work and freedom’ are a continuation of the struggle that has been going on against the clerical regime for many years.”

“The Iranian regime does not respect the rights of the people of Iran, and the government is repressive and anti-freedom, and it is based on corruption and privilege for a limited individuals. That is why the focus of the protests is not just economic demands, but demands that embrace all levels of society. At the head of these protests, we are witnessing the presence of women who fight not only against forced hijab but also for freedom of choice, freedom of expression and the realization of democracy.”
