Since the mullahs’ regime claimed power in Tehran with Khomeini who built his authority on the bodies of his opponents and even those who criticised him in severe repressive ways, the Iranian regime adopted the policy of exporting crises and igniting fire outside its borders in order to install its authority at any cost. Therefore, the idea of establishing extremist groups in the region has emerged immediately, which would be controlled in a way that would serve the Iranian project. The responsibility of founding these groups was given to the Revolutionary Guards who devoted its Quds Force for putting that into practice.
The Iranian regime was aware that its survival has become dependent on the establishment of extremist terrorist groups which will be used against any country that would stand against its devastating project in the region as well as using them in murdering any Arab or Iranian person who would conflict or reveal the falsehoods of the Iranian endeavours. For these particular reasons was the presence of Hezbollah in Lebanon, buying the souls of the Assad regime’s figures, the formation of terrorist groups under popular slogans in Iraq and Yemen for this Iranian purpose.
In fact, the Iranian regime has succeeded in establishing terrorist tools in a form of sectarian groups managed and controlled completely by Khomeini and then Khamenei after him. What was only needed is to provide these terrorist tools with fuel, weapons and ammunitions where a group of Revolutionary Guards was responsible for this task of smuggling weapons from different places and points and delivering them to these extremist groups. For the Iranian regime, this was the highest of its aims, and it considers it as an occupation and never hides its boast before its peoples after deceiving them by the image of resistance and the divine representation on earth. This kind of occupation has been acknowledged by the deputy commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Ismail Qaani, in his hostile saying that Iran’s Islamic revolution has no specific geographical area and that the Revolutionary Guards is concurring countries used to be under the control of the global arrogance, considering that Iraq, Syria and Palestine as war fields which belong to the mullahs’ regime.
After implementing several arms smuggling operations to Hezbollah in Lebanon and al-Qaida in Iraq by the Revolutionary Guards, many newspapers and news websites revealed the violation carried out by the Revolutionary Guards in supporting terrorism and extremism. For instance, Fox News in many of its reports addressed Quds Force smuggling weapons to terrorist groups in the Middle East and North Africa. Fox News said: “As conflicts and civil wars rage across the Middle East and North Africa, a shadowy covert cell operating under the Iranian government is fuelling the bloodshed. Unit 190, a secret arm of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Force made up of about two-dozen employees, has for years smuggled arms to these conflict zones. Fox News has also learned from western intelligence sources the name of the Iranian man who is a key player in Unit 190: Behnam Shahariyari, born in 1968 in Ardabil, northwest Iran”.
In 2007, Turkish authorities intercepted containers filled with 122mm mortar shells and explosives destined for Hezbollah via Syria in violation to the fifth paragraph of Security Council resolution 1747 which asks Iran to refrain from supplying, selling or transferring any military equipment from its territory, whether directly or indirectly.
According to Western intelligence sources, Fox News said that Unit 190 has established a hangar in the civilian section of the international airport in Tehran as a warehouse for weapons and it is often used as a starting point for smuggling weapons to the terrorist groups, particularly in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and now Yemen.
In 2012, several explosions rocked Khartoum, turned out to be the factories where the Iranian regime stored the weapons which were planned to be distributed to the terrorist groups. The plan was to move these weapons to Hezbollah, Hamas and other places overland through Egypt.
In October 2010, Nigerian security forces arrested Quds Force activists in Nigeria after intercepting a shipment of mortar shells and rockets destined for Gambia. There are a lot of facts that have been recorded which prove the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and its Quds Force’s smuggling weapons to terrorist groups in order to ignite the fighting in the region and to keep it in a spiral of chaos.
Yemeni military sources revealed that officers in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards have smuggled weapons to the Houthi militias and the ousted Saleh across the Red Sea. The Iranian regime also used charities as a cover for smuggling weapons. The Iranian Red Crescent has even become a part of the intelligence Revolutionary Guard divisions. Reports confirmed that the terrorist Quds Force has transferred 50 tons of weaponry and logistical aid to the Houthis from Mehrabad airport near Tehran airport to Sana’a under the aid cover of the Iranian Red Crescent. Meanwhile, deputy Yemeni Ambassador to Bahrain, Hasan Massoud Qahtan, has revealed that the Bahraini frigate was able to thwart 280 cases of an Iranian arms smuggling through Bab el Mandeb and Aden.
Forbes magazine also published a report in which it revealed that the Iranian aviation company “Mahan”, close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, continues its secret flights to smuggle arms and military personnel to Syria, using fake trips numbers. This report indicates the increased fears that the Iranian regime might use Boeing and Airbus planes; the United States has recently allowed to be sold to the Iranian regime, for the purpose of smuggling weapons to terrorist groups deployed in the region.
