Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced Tuesday that it has arrested some people related to a communication network of Western media in a suburb of the capital Tehran, Tasnim news agency reported on Tuesday.
In a statement, carried by Tasnim, the public relations of IRGC in the Pardis city northeast of Tehran said that its forces have arrested “a number of people who were trying to produce content and subjects for Western media in Pardis.”
These people, “with financial and intelligence support from western media”, took films and pictures from different places and situations and sent them to the foreign media, the statement said.
They were part of the people identified by IRGC intelligence surveillance. While they were arrested, some others were still out there under surveillance, it said.
The detainees have been handed over to the judicial authorities, it added. The statement did not disclose the identity of the arrested people.
