Iran Aseman Airlines is the third-largest Iranian airline headquartered in Tehran. It operates scheduled domestic passenger services and regional international services;
In February 2017, it emerged that Aseman Airlines was in talks with an Irish firm to lease seven Airbus A320neos. In April 2017, the airline signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Boeing for the purchase of 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with options for another 30 aircraft. In June 2017, Iran Aseman Airlines signed a final deal to buy 30 Boeing 737 MAX jets. In June 2018, Boeing announced it won’t be able to deliver any aircraft to Iranian airliners due to the US’s sanctions against Iran. On 13 January 2019, the airline operated the last ever Boeing 727 commercial passenger flight worldwide;
