The Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) raided the home of Kurdish civilian Abdollah Gholizadeh in Bukan, West Azerbaijan Province, at noon on 30 November 2024, beating and arresting him and his son, Hemin Gholizadeh.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that IRGC forces stormed the house without a warrant, searched the property and confiscated several personal belongings before physically assaulting and detaining both individuals.
The father and son were then reportedly taken to a detention facility run by the IRGC Intelligence Organisation at the Al-Mahdi military base in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province.
Another family member, Rebin Gholizadeh, a long-time member of the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK), was killed in July 2020 when Turkish military jets bombed his vehicle in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
