On Tuesday, the Iranian people’s nationwide uprising continued for a fifth consecutive day and saw massive clashes between rebellious youth, including university students, and the suppressive State Security Forces, intelligence agents, and plainclothes police. They are credible reports coming from inside Iran that these protests are continuing for 5-consecutive days.
The suppressive forces surrounded students from the University of Tehran a few hours after they staged protests and the atmosphere at 16 Azar Avenue and Enqelab Avenue is extremely tumultuous.
The students began chanting “Imprisoned students must be freed” and “Don’t be afraid, we are all together”, which gave them the inner strength to force back the paramilitary Bassij forces when they tried to attack the students.
Meanwhile, the situation is extremely tense in the Sadeqyieh district of western Tehran where people have also taken to the streets and in Karaj, suppressive forces have blocked off access to squares in order to try and retake areas that are currently under the control of the people.
In Sarasiab, a poverty-stricken area of southern Karaj, the people clashed with the security forces who had opened fire on them, while in Karaj’s Fardis district, the youth set Sepah Bank’s branch on fire.
The State Security Forces and swarms of armed plainclothes agents have been sent to various areas of the country to try and quell the uprising.
Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), tweeted on Monday: “Hail to the martyrs of the uprising. Such unjust shedding of blood only adds to the resolve of the Iranian people to continue their rightful resistance to overthrow the mullahs’ regime.”
