Senior Iranian military officials have declared that retaliation against Israel is “inevitable” as tensions in the Middle East continue to rise.
IRGC Deputy Commander Ali Fadavi, speaking at the Sharif University of Technology on Sunday, confirmed Iran’s intent to respond to Israel but withheld specific details. “It will definitely happen,” Fadavi said during his address.
This statement follows multiple warnings of impending action from Iranian officials.
IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami vowed a “crushing response” to both Israel and the United States in a message commemorating the anniversary of the U.S. Embassy takeover.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian echoed these sentiments, asserting that Iran would respond to threats against its sovereignty.
He also suggested that Israel could influence the “type and intensity” of Iran’s response by accepting a ceasefire and ending regional hostilities.
Additionally, IRGC commander and parliamentary security commission member Esmail Kowsari indicated that Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has approved a military response exceeding the scale of “True Promise 2.”
In response to the escalating rhetoric, the United States has deployed B-52 bombers to the Middle East and warned that any Iranian attack on Israel would remove U.S. constraints on Israeli actions.
