Mohayadin Ebrahimi, Mohayadin Tazehvared and Davood Jabbari-Maraghush were transferred to an unknown location from Urmia Central Prison. They are all serving security-related sentences and both Mohayadins are on death row which raises concerns about their possible executions.
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, three political prisoners were transferred to an unknown location from Urmia Central Prison on October 26.
41-year-old Mohayadin Ebrahimi was arrested by IRGC forces In November 2017 while he had sustained two injuries in his legs. Branch Two of the Urmia Revolutionary Court sentenced him to death in October 2018, which was overturned by Branch 16 of the Supreme Court. At retrial, Branch Two of the Urmia Revolutionary Court upheld his death sentence at retrial.
Mohayadin Ebrahimi has two small children with learning disabilities and one of his brothers was shot death by border forces while working as a kolbar (“human mules” who carry goods across the border).
25-year-old Mohayadin Tazehvared was arrested in 2018 and sentenced to death by Branch Two of the Urmia Revolutionary Court on the charge of “membership in Salafi groups.”
Their transfer has raised concerns that about the possibility of their executions being carried out.
Davood Jabbari-Maraghush was arrested by security forces on 4 June 2017 and sentenced to 18 years imprisonment for membership in the Islamic State by Branch Two of the Urmia Revolutionary Court.
