A former Israeli general said Iran would try to target the Jewish state from all sides, focusing on important and vital military targets.
General Aharon Ze’evi Farkash, the former Israeli chief of staff, said that “Iran will try to attack us from all sides by striking military or strategic targets in Israel.”
According to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation (KAN ) on Saturday morning, these Iranian attacks could reach Israel from both Iraq in the east, from Syria and Lebanese Hezbollah and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights in the north, and from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement in the south.
General Aharon Ze’evi Farkash said that there is a fear of withdrawing US forces from both northern Syria and Iraq, or from the Middle East in general, as it opens the door to many possibilities for the Israeli army.
General Farkash, the former head of the Israeli military intelligence division, Aman, warned of the consequences of successive US withdrawals from the Middle East and their impact on Israel.
General Aharon Ze’evi Farkash’s remarks came in response to statements made by General Aviv Kochavi, the Israeli Chief-of-Staff, on the real “enemy” of his country in the coming period.
According to Channel “20”, last Thursday, Kochavi stressed that the northern front is the most dangerous to his country in the current and future, as well, as the main threat to Israel in the interim.
The Israeli Channel quoted the Israeli Chief-of-Staff warning of the deterioration of the situation and the outbreak of military confrontations between his country with Iran from the Syrian side and Hezbollah in Lebanon, meaning that the northern front is the potential for war, claiming that the northern front is the main strategic challenge, where the positioning Iranian military in Syria, as well as the Tehran-led precision missile project.
