Albania has ordered the arrest and expulsion of yet another spy planted by the Iranian regime to spy on members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) who were relocated to Tirana in 2016 to protect them from attacks by the mullahs in Iran.
The Albanian Interior Ministry designated Iranian agent Ehsan Bidi as persona non grata on October 17. He was arrested and transferred to a detention center, where he will stay until another country agrees to take him in.
Following his detention, the Iranian regime and its Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) agents have launched into a whole array of lies about MEK members in Albania to conceal the scandal and make other Iranian agents in Albania feel safe. The bizarre lie is that the MEK tried to kill him Bidi, so the Albanian government moved him to a safe location.
Massoud Khodabandeh, the director of the MOIS-run Interlink website, wrote on Facebook: “According to Albanian police, agents of the MEK who have infiltrated the circle of former members of the organization was planning to kill Ehsan Bidi. While the police are investigating the MEK insider, Bidi was transferred to a safe location.”
Bidi repeated this claim almost word for word, but the Albanian media retorted with the news that Bidi was being expelled from the country because of criminal collusion with the regime against MEK members in Albania.
Bidi is a long-time Iranian agent, who surrendered to the regime in 2012 when he was living in the MEK’s Camp Liberty, which was under siege by Iranian proxies. He was eventually disguised as a refugee and sent to Albania to spy on MEK members who were being transferred there. He was first arrested in 2019 and given the opportunity to leave Albania in July 2020 but neighboring Greece wouldn’t accept him.
The Albanian police earlier arrested regime agents Bijan Pooldarag, Danial Kasraei, and Gholamreza Shekari. So far, the Albanian government has expelled several Iranian diplomats, including the Ambassador, and arrested several crime rings for plotting against the MEK.
In response, the regime has intensified its propaganda and terrorism efforts against MEK members in Ashraf 3, Albania.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) released a statement following Bidi’s arrest that reaffirmed the need to arrest and expel all regime agents in foreign countries.
