The acceleration toward absolute poverty is the adopted strategy and organized policy against the Iranian people by the Iranian regime.
Pushing the people to an irreversible line, is including all the fields of the people’s lives, from necessary commodities to ground and housing.
In a country where the price of every 30 eggs stack has reached 50,000 tomans and the poverty line has overpassed 12 million tomans, there will be no balance of the prices. Why? Because as many of the people are saying the government and the rule don’t want that the people can straighten their back under the heavy burden of these prices and being busy with livelihood problems.
The first effect of such a reason is that the change of governments will not affect the rising prices and the people’s conditions, because the main decision-maker is not the government, but the supreme leader’s office as was witnessed in the fuel price hike of 2019, while Ali Khamenei expressed his full support of the government’s decision, which pushed aside all the rumors about the government’s decision.
The witness of such a situation is the rulers themselves, who inevitably admit the best examples. An example of this confession was published in the newspaper Mardom Salari on September 29, 2021.
A confession that indicates the deterioration of the housing and ground situation in the government appointed by Khamenei.
The newspaper reported the price of the house in the period before and after the appointment of the regime’s new president Ebrahim Raisi as follows:
“The price of a house in Tehran passed 31 million each meter. According to the Central Bank, in September this year, the average price of one square meter of housing in Tehran was 31.703 million tomans, which increased by 2.4% and 30.5% compared to the previous month and the same period of the previous year, respectively.”
Another example of this which indicates the penetration of corruption in the structure of the government and shows that the regime’s governments are just circus shows controlled by the supreme leader:
“It’s been almost six weeks since the Raisi government began its work, and contrary to some claims and exaggerations, the situation of high prices has not only gotten better, which has also gotten worse.” (Aftab-e-Yazd, 30 September 2021)
In addition to the fact that the price situation in less than two months after the start of the new government has created a darker outlook than before, another state-owned media outlet warns that the commotion of Raisi and his team, who want to make a change on the economy and housing and livelihoods, is a ‘show’ and nothing else.
On September 28, 2021, the Kar-o-Karegar newspaper warned the government quoting a former MP, and wrote: ‘The government should not spend time on fake shows.’
This means that the economic situation of the country is much worse than the visions and speeches of Raisi and his unprofessional team would be able to solve something.
The state-run daily Aftab-e-Yazd on September 28, 2021, clarified this reality and wrote: “It is worth noting that this government does not have time as Rouhani’s government for a ‘speech treatment’, and the patience of society is coming to its end.”
It added: “The majority of the population lives below the poverty line. People’s purchasing power has never been so low. People’s endurance is limited, and people can just endure to some extent and when they see that they have nothing to lose, they do not wait for us to allow them to protest or not.”
These examples only expose one policy, which is Khamenei’s all-out attempt to crush the Iranian people. The regime organizes, equips, and accelerates poverty, while its weapons such a prison, execution, exile, kidnapping, and killing do not have the effects as in the previous years.
However, the outcome of this policy is not what the regime has expected as the Aftab-e-Yazd newspaper said: “People who have nothing to lose don’t wait.”
