The Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that the Syrian and Iranian forces conducted a joint military drill in Syria, in the presence of Esmail Qaani, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Forces.

The agency mentioned that Qaani met in Syria with a number of official, military, and political figures, in addition to visiting a number of operations areas.

It cited the IRGC commander as saying that Syria and Iran are two brotherly countries that are tied by distinguished, comprehensive, and deep strategic relations.

Tasnim added that the Iranian and Syrian sides discussed the situation on the sensitive Syrian battle fronts, within the framework of the joint confrontation of military and security challenges.

The Iranian news agency revealed that Qaani conducted field visits to a number of countries in the region, in confirmation of support for the resistance of these countries against global injustice and arrogance.

It is noteworthy that in July, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for comprehensive, long-term strategic cooperation between Damascus and Tehran.
