The head of the Social Emergency Centre for of the Iranian regime’s Social Welfare Organization admitted the increase in suicide rates in Iran and said: “The country’s western provinces, including Ilam, Kermanshah, Hamedan, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad are among the provinces with very high rates of suicide.”
On the eve of World Suicide Day, Hossein Asadbeigi said: “Last year, a total of 5828 suicide missions were carried out by the social emergency department.
Referring to the total number of 4,405 suicide deaths recorded in year 2016, he said that in 2015, over 4029 suicides have been recorded. Statistics shows an increase of 376 suicide cases in 2016 compared with 2015.
He admitted that disappointment has come to the forefront of all the causes of suicide in Iran.

According to reports, a young man died due to brain haemorrhage on Friday, September 17, 1996, living in Tehran, jumping from the second floor of a building.
On the same day, a teenage girl in Tehran hang herself from the balcony of her house for an unknown reason and tried to commit suicide but was saved with the help of the locals residents.
A 19-year-old girl called Kosar Sargazi on Saturday, September 7, 2017, committed suicide with a handgun and unfortunately died.
According to reports, a 23-year-old young man, in the last hours of Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in Bushehr Province (southern Iran) committed suicide by cutting the arteries of his hands and unfortunately died.
On Saturday, September 2, 2016, a 20-year-old young man attempted suicidal by throwing himself in front of a moving train in Tehran’s subway but as he was lying down inside the train’s rail, he miraculously survived the incident.
A 28 year old married woman having a child, hanged herself at around 6 pm on Friday, September 1, at her home in the city of Gorgan (northern Iran) and sadly died.
Suicides in Iran under the rule of the mullahs are due to suppression and repression, on the one hand, and poverty and economic deprivation on the other hand. According to global statistics, Iran is among the countries with highest suicidal rate.
