On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, hundreds of people in Khorrambid (Qader-Abad) in the southern Iranian Province of Fars staged a demonstration outside the town’s Police precinct to protest against the heinous murder under torture of a 30-year-old man, Javad Khosravanian.
Khosravanian had been detained by the security forces on August 30, 2019. The criminal officers of the local intelligence department tortured him to death while in detention and handed over his body to a local hospital. A video clip on the Internet shows clear signs of torture on the victim’s head and neck.
While chanting anti-regime slogans, the people of Khorrambid carried placards, which read, “Intelligence murderers shame on you,” and “we demand a follow-up to the murder of Javad Khosravanian in the police precinct.”
Underscoring that over the years many prisoners have been tortured to death in the regime’s prisons and detention centers, the Iranian Resistance urges the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Human Rights Council, and other international human rights organizations to condemn this egregious murder. It also emphasizes that the ruling theocracy’s appalling human rights dossier must be referred to the United Nations Security Council.
