Amid the Italian business delegation’s visit of 250 people to Iran a meeting between undisclosed Italian companies and the Iranian Airports Holding Company (IAC) was held in Tabriz and Tehran regarding Iran’s airports
An Italian company was granted the right to design and construct the future international terminal of Tabriz in a deal signed worth 50 million euro. The terminal construction involves two phases. The first phase will include a new area of 20, 000 m² along with 30, 000 m² additional in the second phase. The purpose of the new terminal is to increase passenger traffic by adding capability for handling one extra wide-body and two narrow-body aircraft. On the sidelines of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the field of technology exchange to modernize the airport and its navigation systems. The final deal is yet to be signed.
Another Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the presence of the both countries’ presidents together with IAC and SEA (Milan Airports) representatives for the development and construction of Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport which since Monday is listed as a National Monument.
