Iran Airports Company is an state-owned enterprise;
The Iran Airports Company (IAC) is the holding and operating company for civilian airports in Iran. Its headquarters is located at Tehran Mehrabad International Airport but it has offices at all Airports in Iran;
According to a report from 2013 IAC was established by the Iranian regime in 1988. The IAC operates under the auspices of the Iranian government as a division of the Ministry of Transportation and Housing (formerly the Ministry of Roads and Transportation, until a merger in June 2011);
The Ministry of Transportation and Housing has awarded contracts worth billions of dollars to the IRGC – (via Khatam al-Anbia);
It manages the flagship Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport and Tehran Mehrabad International Airport;
The IRGC was also involved in the construction of Terminal One at Imam Khomeini Airport. As the RAND Corporation reports, the terminal was built by the Mostazafan Foundation, Iran’s largest bonyad that is directly supervised by the Supreme Leader;
It operates all the Airport Tower around Iran as well as Iranian Radar control;
Its headquarters is located at Tehran Mehrabad International Airport but it has offices at all Airports in Iran;
According to the IAC website is responsible for 54 Operational Airports including:
20 Domestic Airports, 25 Custom Airports, 9 International Airports, 16 million square meters of passengers terminals, runways and maneuvering areas,airports buildings and about 9 million Square Meters of access roads, green areas, Parking lots and other spaces;
Despite that Iran Aviation Company is owned and controlled by the Iranian Regime and have IRGC connections, companies from Europe have signed Memorandum of Understanding with IAC:
– Signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with Munich and Frankfurt airports and Dornier Consulting International GmbH for investment in construction of new airports in Ahwaz and Chabahar;
– French VINCI Airports signs a memorandum of understanding for the expansion of two airports in Iran;
– Memorandum of Understanding was signed – IAC and SEA (Milan Airports) for the development and construction of Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport;
– Malaysia Airports has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Iran Airports Company (IAC);
In 2016, contract was signed between Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAANC) and French Thales Company, in the presence of Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhundi and French Minister of Transport Alain Vidalies in Tehran;
