The Iranian mullahs have been forced to break their silence on the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) because the activities of the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran, the major MEK-led protests in major global cities, and the five-day conference at the MEK’s new headquarters in Albania has brought the MEK into the heart and minds of people around the globe.
Of course, the Regime couldn’t just allow people to know that there is an organised resistance ready to take over in Iran, so they have complained about how they feel the White House’s anti-regime speech and actions mimic the MEK and how the MEK has “penetrated deeply” into the Iranian people.
Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Brigadier General Assadollah Nasseh said: “We must know that everything that takes place in the world against us is the result of the [MEK’s] lobbying effort somewhere, or a price that they have paid… On the issue of missiles, we witness that it was based on the information that they provided to the Americans.
Regarding human rights, they make up dossiers and files and provide them to Europeans and they put pressure on us in this way. They use every leverage against us.”
The Regime is terrified of the idea that the MEK should be treated as the true representative of the Iranian people, so commanders of the IRGC, who are designated as terrorists by the US, comment on it constantly.
IRGC Brig. Gen. Gholamreza Jalali said that the cyber war with the MEK is more difficult than when the MEK liberated two Iranian cities in 1988, claiming the MEK are taking advantage of the weak domestic economic circumstances; circumstances that the Regime is solely responsible for. While Esmaeil Kowsari, the deputy commander of the IRGC’s Sarallah Headquarters, said that the MEK is putting all its efforts into “humiliating” the Regime; although the Regime seem to be doing a good job of that themselves.
The Regime are try to silence their opponents through blocking freedom of information on social media and propaganda, which includes demonization campaigns, identity theft, fake news, fraudulent emails, computer viruses, and threats. But the reality is that this will not stop the people from supporting the MEK.
In a statement giving evidence about the threat, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said: “The NCRI’s Committee on Security and Counterterrorism calls on all compatriots and PMOI supporters to expose the regime’s pathetic ploys and neutralize their cyber plots. It urges them to refrain from responding to suspicious and unknown emails and contacts including in Telegram, Skype, Whatsapp, etc., and share suspicious cases with the NCRI representative offices or PMOI chapters in different countries.”
