The political prisoner Youssef Emadi has been transferred to the quarantine of Evin prison 3 weeks ago by the order of the prison head, and there is no news about him due to cut-off of phone calls and weekly visits. He was summoned to the prison warden’s room after protesting against one of the prison officers and his phone calls and family visits were cut-off and he was then transferred to quarantine cells of ward 4 as a punishment.
According to reports, Youssef went to the security officer to follow up his request for transfer to political prisoners’ ward 350 but there was an argument between them and he was then summoned to the prison chief’s room.
The report indicates that he did not return to the ward after being summoned to the prison warden’s room.
The prosecutor’s office, in response to the telephone calls by the family of Youssef Emadi, who were worried about the situation of their son, said they were unaware of his transfer to the quarantine and denial of telephone calls and visits.
The family of this political prisoner do not know who to refer to in order to get information about the status of their son.
Composer Youssef Emadi, along with Mehdi and Hossein Rajabian, were arrested on October 5, 2013, in their office in connection with the launch of a music production and distribution website called Music Leaf, and spent more than two months in solitary confinement in Ward 2A of the Revolutionary Guards under interrogation and torture.
Youssef Emadi was charged with “propaganda against the regime” and communicating with the media during his prison term, and his case is being prosecuted in Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court.
