Presenter Azadeh Namdari can be seen drinking and not wearing her hijab while on holiday in Switzerland.
The images emerged despite her once having promoted the Islamic dress code by wearing a full hijab in a photo that appeared in a conservative Iranian newspaper.
The picture was published along with the headline ‘Thank God, I wear the veil’.
Alcohol is banned in Islam and in Iran where women are required by law to the wear the headscarf.
Namdari has already responded to the claims by publishing a video in which she explained she had been sitting with family members and close relatives among whom a woman does not need to wear a hijab.
She said the footage was captured by an unknown individual – and that her scarf had fallen from her head moments before the clip started.
However, she did not offer an explanation as to why she was drinking alcohol.
But despite her response, the state television star was accused of ‘hypocrisy’ and ‘dual-behaviour’.
According to the BBC, the Facebook page Iran Without Clerics said that while they did not have a problem with her not wearing hijab or drinking beer ‘oiur problem is that you… take the Iranian people for a fool.’
Some were more forgiving and suggested she should be able to wear what she wants.
Facebook user Safiye Safiye said: ‘It is her life. It is none of our business.’
