The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ (IRGC) Deputy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi stated on Wednesday that Iran is undefeated in every confrontation since 1987.
“The enemy’s failure against the IRGC Navy started since 1987 and the enemy has several times admitted its defeats and no country has so far dared to make aggression against Iran,” the IRGC commander said, as quoted by Fars News Agency.
His remarks came nearly one month after the IRGC Aerospace Force shot down an American spy drone over the Iranian territorial waters near the Strait of Hormuz at dawn on June 20.
After the incident, U.S. President Donald Trump said the U.S. Air Force was “cocked and loaded” and ready to attack three Iranian targets a day later, but he called off the strike with 10 minutes to spare after being told that the airstrike might kill as many as 150 people.
Trump said in a series of tweets that he decided that the death toll was not a proportionate response to Iran’s shooting down of a US spy drone off the Iranian coast.
