A group of ship manufacturing workers of the Hormoz Bahr Gostar Company staged a picket line on Wednesday protesting delayed wages. This rally was held outside the Persian Gulf Shipyard Complex in the city of Bandar Abbas, southern Iran.
“Nearly 500 workers are working in various such projects across Hormozgan Province and they have not received their full wages for the past two months,” according to the semi-official ILNA news agency.
These workers have also been deprived of their insurance and social security benefits for the past few months.
The protesting have yet to receive any convincing response from their employers and felt no other choice but to stage this protest.
Furthermore, all companies under the Persian Gulf Holding Complex have not paid their workers’ salaries for the past three months.
