Deir Ezzor province: The command of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has rejected a request by some residents from Al-Hirri town in the east of Al-Bokamal in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor to take back their houses. Those houses had been seized earlier by IRGC and turned into military headquarters for manufacturing landmines and IEDs and warehouses for storing weapons under the pretext that “those houses are located in a military zone.”
The residents have filed an official request at the “general relations bureau” in the security zone in Al-Hajjanah neighbourhood, but this request has been rejected and IRGC refused to evacuate the houses.
On January 10, SOHR sources reported that regime forces and Iranian militias took over some houses of civilians in Deir Ezzor City and its western and eastern countryside.
According to reliable SOHR sources, the studies department of the security branches started investigating regarding the houses in regime-held areas, to confirm that the houses are not inhabited by their original owners, before the houses get registered as a property of the state.
