Yemen’s official news agency (Saba) reported that the country’s Council of Ministers met on Thursday in Aden to review the results of the UN Security Council’s emergency meeting on the Yemeni crisis in Aden, the interim capital of the country.
According to the report, the Council of Ministers at the meeting, referring to the transfer of weapons and the provision of missiles to Houthi militias and supporters of Ali Abdullah Saleh by the Iranian regime, called on the United Nations and the international community to take further “deterrent measures” against the regime.
According to the Yemeni government, the handover of weapons by the Iranian regime poses a threat to the Strait of Bab-el-Mandeb, one of the most important maritime transport routes in the region.
The Yemeni ministers expressed their satisfaction, at the meeting, on the international community’s support for the Yemen’s legitimate government.
