Thousands of Iranians held a large protest and march in Brussels on 15 June 2019. The protestors condemned the brutal violation of human rights by Iran’s regime and its instigation of terrorism and warmongering in the region. They expressed support for the Iranian Resistance movement led by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran.
The protestors voiced support for the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK) and for the MEK’s Resistance Units who are organizing anti-regime protests in Iran.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi addressed the demonstrators in a video message, saying: “The faltering Iranian regime is besieged by a nation that has risen up and has lost all patience.”
Speakers at the rally included Giulio Terzi, former Foreign Minister of Italy; Ingrid Betancourt, former hostage and presidential hopeful in Columbia; Prof. Alejo Vidal Quadras, former Vice President of the European Parliament and director of the In Search of Justice foundation; Struan Stevenson, coordinator of the Campaign for Iran Change; Mark Demesmaeker, Belgian Member of the European Parliament; Françoise Schepmans, member of the state parliament for Brussels, former vice-president of the Belgian Parliament; Heytham Maleh, of the leadership of the Syrian opposition; Pierre Gallant, former Belgian senator; Professor Eric David, International law expert; Zinat Mirhashemi, editor in chief of Nabard-e-Khalq review, NCRI member; Kak Baba Sheikh Hosseini, secretary-general of the Iranian Kurdish Khebat Organization ; Sarvnaz Chitsaz, chair, Women’s Committee of the NCRI ; Jean-Pierre Brard, former member of the French parliament; Paolo Casaca, former member of the European Parliament from Portugal; Mohammad Mohaddessin, chair, Foreign Affairs Committee of the NCRI; Gisoo Shakeri, artist; Mahmood Nobari from the Iranian community in Belgium; Raha Heshmatikhah and Soroush Abootalebi, members of the Iranian Youth community in Belgium.
