Iran’s notorious Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been providing support to the opposition groups in North Africa, sparking fears that a world war is on the horizon.
Iran is being criticised for its role in arming and training the groups in Africa. Iran already funds and supports militias and proxy groups across the region, and several leaders in the international community are calling on the regime to stop its meddling and interference in foreign politics.
It is believed that Iran’s IRGC is spreading across into the Western Sahara region via the Iranian embassy in Algeria where it is directing and leading operations.
Iran is being criticised for its malign role in the Middle East, especially in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria and one could say that Iran is involved in all of the conflicts in the region in one way or another.
US President Donald Trump announced a few weeks ago that he is pulling the United States out of the landmark 2015 nuclear deal and one of his reasons for doing so was Iran’s belligerence.
During his speech announcing his decision, Trump said: “The Iranian regime is the leading state sponsor of terror. It exports dangerous missiles, fuels conflicts across the Middle East, and supports terrorist proxies and militias such as Hezbollah, Hamas, the Taliban, and al Qaeda.”
He pointed out that American military installations and embassies across the region have been targeted by the regime and many US citizens have been tortured, captured and imprisoned by Iranian authorities.
Iran has been heavily involved in the Syrian civil war since it began several years ago. The war would not have lasted this long if Iran had not been involved as Syrian dictator Bashar al Assad would never have been able to stay in power without being propped up by an outside force.
Iran’s IRGC controls a large portion of the Iranian budget and it, along with its Quds Force division, have been spreading the regime’s revolution. The people are becoming poorer and poorer in Iran, yet they are being neglected by the leadership of the country.
When the Iran nuclear deal was signed, tens of billions of dollars were freed up. This huge sum of money should have made a difference to the lives of the people, yet they never saw any of it. A large part of the money was spent on terrorist and malign activities and the funding of proxy and militia groups all over the world.
The Iranian regime is depending on chaos outside its own borders which is why it is sparking and fuelling conflicts. It is in a desperate situation at home where it has completely lost control. It is aware that the people are united in their desire for freedom, democracy and human rights and it has run out of ways to suppress the people. It has realised that the strong people of Iran cannot be silenced.
