Two days after the election façade, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani held a press conference once again proving his inability and lack of will to realize even the slightest change in this regime’s domestic and foreign policies.
Rouhani pledged the mullahs’ regime will continue their warmongering in the Middle East, adding they are on the ground in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, and fought against terrorism in the region.
“Iran has and will support these through its diplomats and military advisors,” he said.
“The Iranians and Russians fought against terrorism alongside the Syrians and the Iraqis. Who continues to fund the terrorists? … The U.S. government has never fought against terrorism… Hezbollah is a group accepted and trusted by the people of Lebanon,” Rouhani continued.
The Iranian regime president resorted to yet another mullah-style lie in increasing the recent voter turnout in Iran’s presidential election to 45 million.
“The word elections has no meaning for them (the Saudi government) and they have yet to see a ballot box. I hope one day the rulers of this country will allow their rule to not be hereditary,” he said.
Rouhani also emphasized this regime will not seek anyone’s permission to continue its missile projects and “if these missiles were not built some parties would be miscalculating, and plunged the region into war. Anytime we have a technical need to test-launch our missiles, we will do so. We accepted the nuclear deal to boost our defensive power.”
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi made similar remarks on the same day.
“Iran’s missile activities are a segment of Iran’s completely defensive policies. We will strengthen our defensive policies using all our powers,” he said.
Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri, Iran’s Deputy Joint Chiefs of Staff also delivered his input in this regard.
“Continuing, accelerating and deepening our defensive objectives, including our missile defense systems, are considered amongst our country’s priorities,” he said, according to a report wired May 21 by the semi-official Mizan news agency.
Iranian MP Hossein Naghavi shed more light on the Iranian regime’s defiance.
“We will not negotiate with anyone over the development of our missile technology, and we will not wait for the permission of no organization or country. We will continue efforts with all our might to increase the military output… the parliament has allocated $1.3 billion to strengthen the military foundation and this is considered a major leap forward,” he said, according to a report wired May 22by the Revolutionary Guards-associated Fars news agency.
These positions, merely two days after the mullahs’ election farce, indicate a change in the behavior of this medieval regime is an illusion. Mass executions, temporarily suspended a week prior to the election, have been reinitiated immediately.
On May 20, following the extension of Rouhani’s presidency to a second term, Iranian Resistance President-elect Maryam Rajavi said he “neither wants, nor is able to alter the regime’s foundations and behavior.”
