“The mercenaries cannot achieve their objectives by intimidating and harassing the political prisoners and human rights activists.
At the dawn of Wednesday, April 19, 2017, the executioners once again hanged the prisoners of Gohardasht Prison with appalling atrocity. The executed prisoners were Farajollah Hatami, Isa Ebrahimi, Mohsen Babaee, Saeed Rashti, Hassan Javadi, and several other inmates.”
He referred to the young prisoner named Mohsen Babaee who was hanged as well. He wrote, “Mohsen was a young 29-year-old man. He was so passionate, fair, and humanitarian in every sense. He was a friend of all political prisoners. His passion for political and human rights activities made him closer to other political prisoners including Shahrokh Zamani Faghid, Arjang Davoodi, and Behnam Ebrahimzadeh. Mohsen always supported the political prisoners and human rights activists in different ways.
Having been imprisoned with Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, Mohsen always gained experience in human rights activities and he became a protester against the sovereignty of the Clerical regime. He also urged all the political prisoners to stand against the authorities and guardsmen.
While the inhumane regime tried to censor and conceal its crimes, the news about the execution of Mohsen Babai, Farajollah Hatami, and their companions broke in media and the mercenaries seethed with rage.
Following the executions, some appointed agents of the Ministry of Intelligence have intimidated some political and human rights activists, and Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, in particular. They have issued threats against the prisoners, following the publicity of executions.
We shall say to the mercenaries of the Ministry of Intelligence that the political and human rights activists will never ask permission from you, the brutal murderers for doing any activities.
The activists will continue their human rights activities incessantly, despite the threats and they will not withhold any effort to protect the people and protest against the executions; as Arjang Davoodi, Shahrokh Zamani, and Behnam Ebrahimzadeh did not stop their political activities after the incident of April 17, 2014 in which the guardsmen attacked the ward 350 of Evin Prison.
The Clerical regime will always carry the stigma of killing these young men. We offer our sincere condolence to the families of Mohsen Babaee, Farajollah Hatami, and those who constantly endeavored to halt the execution of these youths. We also express condolences to the people whose hearts beat for freedom, humanity, and justice.
We hope that the executions and other inhumane Islamic laws to be annulled and no one loses his life because of such petrified punishments.
Down with the anti-human Mullahs’ regime!
Long live Freedom!
Mehdi Farahi Shandiz, April 2017”
