Every few days, the Iranian regime with ridiculous maneuvers tries to draw attention to its upcoming presidential election which will be held in June 2021.
One of these shows is the presence of the military elements in this show, who mainly are officers in the regime’s Revolutionary Guard (IRGC).
But to stabilize the position and presence of military officials in the presidential election, this regime has tried this many times, which was and is the main expectation of the regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei to have one of its loyal IRGC commanders at the head of the country. Khamenei had expressed sadness about the death of Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force who was considered as the second most powerful person after Khamenei. After this event, the regime is facing a deep gap in the head of its sovereignty, because Khamenei knows very well that most of the officials and elements in his regime are not loyal to him anymore, even in-between the IRGC forces.
But the people of Iran reject many times this desire of the regime’s supreme leader. The state-run daily Mardom Salari on April 4, 2021 wrote: “Some people like Mohsen Rezaei (Former IRGC’s head) have been nominated many times as potential or actual candidates and have never been able to get many votes from the people.”
Evidence shows that Khamenei is assessing the social context for estimating the acceptance or non-acceptance of a military element. Especially after announcing the presence of Saeed Mohammad among the candidates.
And the considerable point is that Khamenei and the Guardian Council and the regime’s parliament have not yet taken any position on the presence or absence of the military.
Therefore, Khamenei is assessing whether the criteria that he set for a Hezbollahi president and his favorite in his Persian New Year speeches are socially accepted or not.
About three weeks ago, when Saeed Mohammad was nominated, the campaign of millions of Iranians against him caused the regime’s initial plan to fail. The state media immediately acknowledged that the regime’s plan had failed.
Now, three weeks later, the Mardom Salari daily announced that Khamenei’s desired person is burned: “The name of Saeed Mohammad, the former commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya base, as a presidential candidate, did not receive much attention.” (Mardom Salari, April 4, 2021)
The regime’s situation is so bad that even the insiders of the system have estimated that the head of this regime want to stablish a military candidate as the opposition to the current situation of the system to warm up its election show.
The government media, which is also cautiously acknowledging, is noteworthy:
“Heating the election with artificial firewood! Is a particular candidate going to play the role of the opposition? Although in the first place the rumor of a confrontation between Saeed Mohammad, the advisor to the IRGC commander-in-chief, and a part of the IRGC management comes to mind, with a little thinking it comes to mind that this is what Saeed Mohammad and his planners have planned to heat up the election in his favor and are trying to make him an opposition candidate.” (Mardom Salari, April 4, 2021)
The situation has become so tragic that the state media has already determined the regime’s situation: “Heating the election stove with artificial firewood only entertains some politicians for a few weeks, and the main election game is on the ground of others.” (Mardom Salari, April 4, 2021)
