Iranian government’s nuclear weapons-producing organization, headed by Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Brigadier General Mohsen Fakhrizadeh Mahabadi, is continuing to operate, so United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced new sanctions;
Kamran Daneshjoo, the project manager of the 111th section of the Amad Plan, which was attempting to modify a Shahab missile with the possibility of installing a possible nuclear device on it, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The Amad Plan is managed by the government’s New Defense Researches Organization (SEPAND), which used to be called The Center of Logistics and New Defense Technologies. In 2017, the Iranian Resistance exposed the continuation and expansion of this nuclear weapon-producing organization based on information gathered by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) through their assets in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Defense Ministry, and the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND). They said: “[The evidence] shows that following the establishment of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2015, not only has the unit remained in place and active, it is now clear that in some fields its activities have even expanded. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh Mahabadi, also known as Dr. Hassan Mohseni, is the key individual in the regime’s nuclear weapons program. He is a veteran IRGC brigadier general and continues to head SPND.”;
Daneshjou has also called for the segregation of university students based on gender in accordance with the “Islamic worldview”;
Daneshjoo has stated that he intends to remove university professors and students who do not have a proven commitment to Islam and the Velayat-e faqih. He has also blamed much of the current post-election unrest in Iranian universities on “subversive” behavior by students and professors;
Daneshjoo has been on the sanction list of the European Union since December 2011 due to his alleged role in the Iran’s missile development and nuclear program;
Designated by the Canadian government in July 2010 as an entity contributing to Iran’s proliferation-sensitive nuclear activities or to its development of chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons or their delivery systems;
On March 16, in response to the Iranian regime’s unacceptable nuclear escalations, the Department of Commerce is imposing restrictions on five Iranian nuclear scientists by adding them to the Department of Commerce’s Entity List. These five individuals were involved in Iran’s pre-2004 nuclear weapons program (the “Amad Plan”) and continue to be employed by the regime to this day. After work on the Amad Plan was stopped, Iran continued to preserve its Amad-era records and its cadre of nuclear weapons scientists, including these individuals. The Department of Commerce’s Entity List contains foreign persons who are subject to specific export licensing requirements. Individuals working for Iran’s proliferation-sensitive programs should be aware of the reputational and financial risks to which they expose themselves. Iran’s scientists and technical experts have two paths: they can use their skills pursuing work on projects that do not pose a proliferation risk, or they can work for Iranian organizations pursuing proliferation-sensitive activities, with the financial and reputational risk such work entails;
