The Iranian judiciary has charged 37 social media users with “propaganda activity against the Islamic Republic” over their criticism of the government’s response to last month’s deadly terrorist attack in the southeastern city of Kerman, IranWire has learned.
Two explosions ripped through a ceremony commemorating the fourth anniversary of the death of IRGC commander Qassem Soleimani in Kerman on January 3, killing more than 90 people and injuring over 170.
Following the attack, at least 76 people were arrested for expressing their views online deemed critical of the government’s response, according to Iranian human rights organizations.
