Ebrahim Rayeesi, President of the Supreme Judicial Council in Iran, appreciated the Iraqi willingness to try the killing of General Qassem Soleimani, orchestrated by the United States in Baghdad, FARS news agency reported on Wednesday.
Rayeesi debated with his Iraqi counterpart Faiq Zidan the ways of assuming the investigation and accusation against the perpetrators and masterminds of the assassination of Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, deputy chairman of the Popular Mobilization Units.
The Iranian justice announced in June 2020 that it had issued arrest warrants for 36 individuals from the United States and other countries for their involvement in the deadly attack against Soleimani and al-Mohandes.
Former US President Donald Trump tops the list among those charged with murder and terrorist action.
