The agreement was signed in Tehran by Deputy Chief of Iran’s Army for Coordination Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari and Iranian Deputy Minister of Science Vahid Ahmadi.
Under the agreement, the Army and the research center will develop cooperation on scientific and research projects.
The agreement includes 9 articles and entails mutual cooperation between the Army and the Center of Research on Scientific Policies in a broad range of fields, such as exchange of documents, promotion of science, enhancement of technology, joint research programs according to the purposes of the two sides, and implementation of strategies for management of scientific and technological policies.
In recent years, particularly after the escalation of sanctions, Iranian military sectors have broadened cooperation with the country’s scientific and industrial centers.
In December 2019, Iran’s Defense Ministry signed a deal with local car manufacturing company SAIPA to curb the auto sector’s reliance on foreign parts.
In the same month, Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami unveiled 10 technological achievements of the students studying at a university affiliated with his ministry.
The technological achievements included products in various fields, such as advanced materials, microelectronics, oxygen supply systems, and new 3D printing technologies.
