Iranian Ambassador to France Bahram Qassemi and the members of the Islamic Association of Students in Paris attended a ceremony in the French capital to commemorate the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution’s victory.
During the ceremony, held in Nofel Loshato District (late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini’s residence when he was in exile in France), the attendees paid tribute to Imam Khomeini and the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution.
Qassemi delivered a speech at the event about the late Imam’s great personality, and the head of the Al-Ghadir Islamic Center spoke about Imam Khomeini’s school of thought.
The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 41 years ago, on February 11, 1979, ending 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.
The Islamic Revolution, led by Imam Khomeini, established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.
Every year, Iranians mark the anniversary of their Islamic Revolution from February 1 to 11, known as the Ten-Day Fajr (Dawn) ceremonies.
February 1, 1979, was the date when Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini returned from exile in Paris to Tehran.
